Podcast Mission

Mom Breaks  exists to support families affected by postpartum psychosis by sharing both the lived experiences and the latest research on the condition—sparking education, empathy, and empowerment in the recovery journey.

Through conversations with survivors, researchers, clinicians, and partners, we explore:

  • What do we know (and not know) about postpartum psychosis?
  • Why does it happen, including for women with no prior mental illness?
  • What helps people recover, rebuild, and process? What gets in the way?

This is an independent, self-funded project dedicated to raising awareness and fostering understanding. Listen in and share your ideas or feedback at hello@mombreakspodcast.com.

Meet the Host

Hi, I'm Meg! I experienced postpartum psychosis in 2021 six weeks after the birth of my second daughter. We had just moved from Manhattan to a suburb, and I was in graduate school studying cognitive science in education. Before and after my psychosis, I worked with neuroscience and learning design labs at Columbia University and now do design research for media and technology companies.

As a science lover, research nerd, and psychosis survivor, I started this podcast to share reliable information and survivor stories with families impacted by postpartum psychosis. Here we blend human experience with evidence-based insights, so families facing this don’t go through it uninformed or alone.
